Tonight I was privileged to be on Post when they played it. EVERYTHING stops! Cars pull over, soldiers get out and face the flag as it is lowered. The whole place just stops until the flag has been completely lowered and retired for the day. Even the kids stop and pause mid play.This is the way of military life.
I filled up with pride and I cried afterwards. I just think our service members are wonderful!!! And of course their family members are phenomenal too!!! If you get a chance... Stop by a military site and pay your respects, and listen... You are bound to hear retreat! :)
